How To Be Here

A one-day workshop with Dom Davenport & Dr Hung Tran

May 31st, 2025
The Practice, Holland Park
10:00–12:00 & 13:30–15:30

For people who feel stressed, anxious, burnt out, caught in overthinking - or simply curious about meeting life more directly. This is a practical space to slow down and shift attention - away from mental loops and towards the clarity and intelligence of the body.

Morning: Direct experience

We begin by exploring how to come into contact with what’s actually happening - without overlaying meaning, analysis, or interpretation. Through structured exercises, we examine what the senses are picking up, how the body receives and responds to information, and what it’s like to notice this without stepping in to explain or correct it.

We’ll explore some simple but important questions:
How does the body recognise and communicate experience?
What is happening without the filter of thought?
Is this experience separate - or connected?
Where do you end and the world begin?

There are no right answers - just opportunities to notice and respond.

Afternoon: Relating through the body

In the second session, we explore how to relate to the world around us - whether with individuals, in groups, or in other shared situations - by using the felt sense of the body rather than the thinking mind. We look at how the body receives and responds to information in relational settings: shifts in attention, changes in pressure, subtle responses in breath, tone, or posture. The emphasis is on staying with the physical experience of relationship - not interpreting it, analysing it, or reacting to it mentally, but letting the body lead the response. This is about noticing what’s happening in real time and learning to engage with it directly - using the body as a place of contact, orientation, and meaningful response.

This workshop is for you if:
You often get stuck in your head or caught in thought loops.
You’re living with stress, tension, or a sense of disconnection.
You want more ease in your body and more clarity in your relationships.
You’re curious about how to work with what’s already here - without trying to fix it.
